Overvoltage protection

LED luminaires are at risk of damage from overvoltage, which can cause e.g. partial or complete failure of the LED modules, loss of brightness, or failure of electronic components. Overvoltage surges have a negative effect on the service life of the luminaires, even if no immediate fault occurs.

BEGA recommends the use of overvoltage protection components in compliance with EN 61643-11 for the reliable protection of LED lighting systems.
