A modern work environment with flexible BEGA lighting

For 70 years, Energie Schwaben has stood for a sustainable energy supply and local responsibility. After an extensive renovation, the head office in Augsburg has been transformed into a modern, light-flooded work environment.

Clean lines, high-quality materials and a well-designed spatial concept characterise the new ambience. BEGA luminaires play an essential role. With their exceptional flexibility, they combine design and light quality, and create an inviting atmosphere in the interior.

The goal of modernising the 1980s building was not only to update the technology and energy concept. The building was to be turned into a contemporary office environment with an open, organised appearance and a pleasant, inviting atmosphere. Bright rooms, glazed surfaces and natural wood elements define the interior. At the core of the lighting concept are BEGA luminaires from the STUDIO LINE series, which score with variable light and reflector colours, as well as versatile installation options.

A few luminaire types, flexibly installed as pendant, recessed, surface-mounted or track luminaires, are all it takes to execute individual designs for numerous areas of the interior. The result is consistently atmospheric lighting that accentuates the high-quality architecture and meets the requirements of a modern work environment.

Opposite the reception, an inviting lounge area has been created with seating for waiting visitors. An almost-ceiling-height plant brings life to the room and forms a natural contrast to the interior’s cool anthracite tones with its lush green foliage. BEGA ceiling luminaire downlights with a velvet black aluminium housing have been installed on the ceiling of the waiting room. Their integrated reflectors direct the glare-free light downwards, pleasantly illuminating the seating area in a clearly structured way.

BEGA system pendant luminaires, which are used in several areas of the redesigned office, serve as a connecting design element. They optimally illuminate the open-plan workspace and reception desk areas, as well as the inviting kitchenette. The majority of the light is directed downwards free of glare, while the rest is softly directed upwards to subtly accentuate the exterior finish of the cylinder. Depending on the room situation, the free-floating indoor luminaires are secured with four different suspension types: a recessed canopy for low ceilings, two different surface-mounted canopies for straight and sloped ceilings, and a track adapter. In combination with swivelling and rotating track spotlights, this enables extremely uniform and wide-area illumination. These flexible solutions have made it possible to realise a consistently high-quality lighting concept that harmoniously combines modern design and functionality.
