The representative building and event venue in the Ruhr region, which was built in the 1920s, was almost completely destroyed in the Second World War and rebuilt in the 1950s. Since then, the building ensemble with its twelve event rooms has been an extraordinary eye-catcher of Mülheim's cityscape. During the evening hours, the neo-classical sandstone façade is illuminated in a varied manner by various BEGA spotlights.
The recently modernized lighting and control system meets numerous requirements while taking into account the regulations in force on site: The light staging brings out historical views in a manner appropriate to the monument. Sustainability, energy efficiency of the LED luminaires and environmental compatibility are also a matter of course.
Here, the city of Mühlheim, together with the commissioned electrical contractor, planned a very individual lighting showcase. Already in the run-up to the implementation of the lighting concept, which at the same time takes into account environmentally relevant concerns, both were supported by BEGA Lichtplanung.
BEGA high-power floodlights illuminate the lower part of the facade with a color temperature of 2200 Kelvin. The angular high-performance spotlights provide wide-area illumination at short distances. BEGA compact floodlights highlight the columns of the architecture separately. Here, 3000 Kelvin was chosen as the color temperature. The following applies to both color temperatures used: thanks to their low blue light content, they do not attract nocturnal animals.
89 linear façade spotlights enable additional planar lighting of the recessed structure above. As RGBW luminaires, they enable colorful staging. The façade spotlights are mounted directly on the façade and very close together for a homogeneous lighting pattern.
The BEGA Connect lighting control system uses the existing IP infrastructure with the DALI connectors, brings the lighting system into the cloud and makes it programmable and scenes retrievable from any location. Various scenes have been stored, and more can be set up at any time with a few simple steps within the convenient BEGA Connect app.
The DALI Connectors of our lighting control system
BEGA Connect uses the existing Internet infrastructure. We developed BEGA Connect to connect and unite things: lighting and architecture, sophisticated technology and simple operation - and even different ways of flexibly controlling DALI: With the DALI Connector on the DIN rail, you stage complex lighting via the existing IP infrastructure - or less complex ones with the Air Connector almost completely independent of location. Even where there is normally no Internet available: in the most remote locations or behind thick walls. Quite simply via narrowband IoT. All this is VDE-certified and always up to date thanks to regular system and device updates. A guarantee for stability and security.
Light staging can be called up at any time
Online, the DALI system is controlled and monitored flexibly and from any location. You can control, plan and monitor individual luminaires from any location via a modern and intuitive app. Control your lighting installation as easily and flexibly as you have never experienced before. Without DALI knowledge. The sophisticated user interface of the BEGA Connect app has been developed so that no special technical knowledge is required for setup and operation.
Power reductions and shutdowns to save energy are possible, as are countless colored or monochromatic stagings. Several scenes have been programmed for the illumination of the Stadthalle Mülheim and can be called up at any time. RGBW colored light control via DALI has never been so easy. Control each individual color channel granularly via the BEGA Connect app and thus individually adapt the colored light effect to the architecture.
Always up to date: Thanks to cloud intelligence, new features can be rolled out via software - your lighting installation receives an upgrade without the need for additional hardware components. The firmware updates itself maintenance-free.
BEGA Connect is not an isolated solution - cloud-to-cloud interfaces enable integration of and into third-party systems.
Consistent and secure: To the highest standards and with all your data on cloud servers in Germany in accordance with strict German data protection laws.
