Symmetrical or asymmetrical flat beam light distribution · With 1 or 2 adjustable floodlights


Light building elements are luminous design elements for public areas. They are particularly suitable for dividing and structuring outdoor spaces. They can be used to guide or lead people and vehicles. Their attention-drawing power is considerably greater than that of pole-top luminaires. Light building elements can be used to serve or highlight the architectural structure. These light building elements are ideal for the energy-efficient illumination of streets, parking spaces and traffic-calmed areas.

They are available with a choice of symmetrical or asymmetrical flat beam light distribution and with different mounting heights. Symmetrical light distribution is ideal for illuminating squares, while asymmetrical flat beam light distribution is particularly suitable for illuminating streets.

The inclination angle of the individual floodlights is adjustable from 0° to 30°.
The individual floodlights can be rotated by 360° around the vertical axis of the light building element.
We can also supply these luminaires with a base plate and in safety class II as custom-made products.

The luminaire luminous flux and the luminaire connected wattage quoted in the table may change as a result of technical progress. On our website you will find data sheets with information on each luminaire concerning not only the current values but also the LED service life and the luminous flux in relation to the respective colour temperature.

Planning examples

On the basis of our empirical values and the suggestions of architects and planners, we have compiled room situations for which lighting design is frequently required. In the following, we shall present possible illumination solutions for these architectural situations. It goes without saying that all technical lighting standards are complied with. In some cases, the degree of illuminance proposed by us may even exceed the standard. For us, the aesthetics of light and a high level of visual comfort are important criteria for such decisions. At the same time, the form and the size of the luminaires must fit into the architectural surroundings. For example, we often recommend larger models if a structure has large dimensions – even if smaller luminaires with lower output would be enough. In such cases, the degree of illuminance can be reduced to a suitable level by means of a light control system.


Train station forecourt

A forecourt of 40 x 20 m opens up in front of a station. This area is bordered by a low wall, which is interrupted by a staircase. This staircase is used to reach street level. Recessed wall luminaires are installed in the wall and in the steps of the staircase for orientation and guidance purposes.
