System components

BEGA Control consists of various system components. A technical description of all system components is provided below, so that you can ensure your system planning meets the various requirements. All components are compatible and can be configured individually.

For user-friendly configuration and management of lighting control, download our BEGA software. This allows you to easily program and parameterise customised control programs.

DALI USB interface

Connection of the PC/laptop where the DALI Cockpit programming software is located to the DALI bus. Only required for programming.

Power supply for the DALI operating devices and the control devices.

DALI joystick

Functions such as groups, scenarios or staircase control can be assigned to the joystick with four pushbuttons via the DALI Cockpit software. Suitable for tunable white (TW) and colour control (CC).

DALI touch panel

DALI touch panel is a multifunctional user terminal with a replaceable user interface for controlling luminaires with a DALI interface. For the manual control of LED, tunable white and RGBW luminaires.

DALI display

Touch display for configuring and controlling two DALI lines and 99 sequences.
Time-dependent controls can be implemented and TW and CC luminaires can be controlled.

DALI control modules

DALI switch module
Module for connecting four conventional pushbuttons or switches to control DALI operating devices.

DALI sequencer module
Program for storing four independent sequences that can be started via DALI control elements, such as the DALI timer, DALI control module for four pushbuttons/switches or DALI joystick.

DALI timer
Timer with a maximum of 14 entries.

DALI daylight module
Control device for tunable white luminaires. Emulates the daylight curve (circadian curve). During the course of the day, the light is automatically controlled to be warmer or colder: warmer light in the morning and evening hours, colder light at noon time.

DALI motion and light sensor

DALI motion and light sensor
Passive infrared motion and light sensor for indoors which responds to movement. Vertical opening angle of +/- 46°, horizontal opening angle of +/- 51°. Range of twelve metres. The measuring range of the light sensor is between 0 and 2500 lx. Configuration is carried out via the DALI Cockpit software.

DALI light sensor
Sensor for indoors with a measuring range of between 0 and 2500 lx. Threshold values for performing switching commands can be set in the DALI Cockpit software.

DALI repeater

Enables the maximum cable length to be extended from 300 metres (DALI line) to 600 metres. Extension using a repeater is only possible once per DALI line.

KNX/DALI gateway · IPAS

KNX/DALI gateway IPAS for integrating 64 luminaires with a DALI operating device in a KNX system. Configuration of 16 DALI groups, of 16 DALI lighting scenarios, and of 16 sequences by means of an application program in the ETS software. DALI colour light control of tunable white and RGBW luminaires (DT8, RGBWAF, xy) can also be implemented in this way.

DALI operating devices for RGB/RGB W luminaires

Using the operating devices, it is possible to integrate RGB in-ground luminaires or RGB W swimming pool luminaires in DALI systems. Additive colour mixing can be effected using any commercially available DALI colour light control system.

ZigBee control modules

Relay output with a maximum switching capacity of 3,600 VA.
Connected loads are integrated into the ZigBee system using the control module and can thus be controlled via ZigBee control elements. Control modules with 1-10 V and DALI outputs are available.

ZigBee router module

Signal amplifier for extending the maximum radio range (30 metres within a free field) between two components.

ZigBee pushbutton modules

Two-fold pushbutton module for connecting two potential-free pushbuttons. Four-fold pushbutton module for connecting four potential-free pushbuttons. The four-fold pushbutton module also supports colour control (CC) and tunable white (TW).

BEGA Gateway

Connecting the WLAN world to the ZigBee world. This means that the ZigBee system can be controlled by smartphone or tablet PC. Time-dependent actions can also be set. The gateway is configured via the web interface. The ZigBee system is configured via the BEGA Gateway app (Android or iOS).
Maximum radio range: 30 metres (open field).

LCN USB port

The port is used to connect the PC and LCN system and is required for programming.

LCN/DALI Gateway

Gateway for connecting the LCN world to the DALI world. This means that DALI luminaires can be controlled using LCN control elements and sensors. A control module is required for connection. Maximum number of DALI devices: 64.

LCN control modules

Modules for integrating luminaires or other additional components into the LCN system – for example, LCN relay, LCN pushbutton/binary adapter, LCN/DALI gateway. The control module has a switching output, a DALI interface and a 1-10 V interface.

LCN motion sensor

Passive infrared sensor which responds to movement and performs the programmed action. It has an opening angle of 110° and a range of ten metres.

LCN light sensor

Sensor for measuring the degree of ambient illuminance. The measured value can be used in the BEGA-PRO software as required. Threshold values for switching lighting on and off can be specified. The LCN light sensor and LCN motion sensor are frequently used in combination.

LCN pushbutton/binary adapter

Adapter with four inputs that can be optionally assigned with external pushbuttons or external binary contacts (such as timers). The processing of commands is set in the BEGA-PRO software. A control module is required for connection.

LCN relay

Relay optionally equipped with two or eight changeover contacts. Used to switch loads. Programming is carried out via the BEGA-PRO software. A control module is required for connection.

LCN buffer amplifier

Amplifier for preventing accidental energisation in distribution networks. In distribution networks with several earth fault circuit breakers, each circuit breaker must be equipped with its own buffer amplifier in order to separate the data line. If LCN buffer amplifiers are used in several distribution networks, connection is effected by means of segment couplers (LCN-LLG or LCN-LLK).

LCN sensor module and LCN pushbutton adapter

Combination for integrating up to eight conventional pushbuttons in an LCN system. The pushbuttons are assigned via the BEGA-PRO software.

LCN operating devices for RGB/RGB W luminaires

Using the operating devices, it is possible to integrate RGB in-ground luminaires or RGB W swimming pool luminaires in BEGA Control · LCN systems.
