BEGA Connect at the Stadtpark Limbach-Oberfrohna

Professional light control for a traditional city park

The Stadtpark Limbach-Oberfrohna in Saxony, Germany, is a symbol of civic engagement. In 1894, the Orchard and Garden Association laid the foundations for a green space that continues to benefit from more than 700 trees, rhododendrons, and other old and rare shrubs.

The illumination of the carefully cultivated park adds to its attractiveness after dark. Numerous light building elements and in-ground luminaires are controlled by professional light management from BEGA Connect. The monitoring of the entire system, switching of the various luminaires, and adjustment of the lighting to special requirements can be performed remotely at any time via the cloud.

Created by the citizens of the city, and continuously expanded and beautified, the city park attracts people from near and far. On its more than seven hectares, numerous paths, ponds, water foundations, small historic structures and an educational tree trail with info boards and historic back stories provide an opportunity for recreation and entertainment. There is a good reason why the Stadtpark Festival, which now attracts 30,000 visitors, has been a magnet for visitors for more than 100 years.

The illumination of the park with extremely durable BEGA luminaires performs the dual function of highlighting the park’s beauty and providing a feeling of safety. Light points that function reliably for many decades help prevent “dark corners”, and thus ensure safety.
