Although the tower's twelve-meter-high, striking entrance conveyed impressive size, it lacked spatial and structural orientation. The new owner contracted a redesign of the interior and lighting – for a modernised look and inviting brightness in the lobby.
The redesign creates organisation in the hall, drawing the eye and commanding attention. 650 seemingly free-floating BEGA luminaires serve as visual guides for this structuring, providing powerful illumination in combination with bright materials and sculptural staging.
Anyone setting foot in the Horizon Tower will immediately feel the effect of this strikingly designed lobby. But despite its sheer size, visitors can find their way around. Light art with BEGA pendant luminaires arranged in blocks at varying heights provides staging and orientation.
Light art and functionality will combine to create a uniform composition – but on the basis of absolutely reliable luminaires: At the Horizon Tower in Eschborn, BEGA pendant luminaires answer that requirement.
Light shining down from a height will mark and illuminate paths. The lighting block above the reception area is arranged significantly lower to meet workplace standards. Waiting areas in front of lifts, seating groups, or the small bar for drinks and snacks – a unique lighting statement was created for each area. Additionally, bright materials add the appearance of ease and largesse to the lobby.
This lighting design was made possible with the deployment of the BEGA performance package. Absolute reliability is essential here: The luminaires must be fail-safe and low maintenance to prevent costly repairs. The light colour emitted by 650 luminaires must be identical to ensure a convincing design to be used as permanent light staging. Additionally, the commissioning of the system is facilitated by an easy and convenient installation.
