Jenneralm, Berchtesgaden Land

BEGA light against the backdrop of the Alps

Situated at an altitude of 1,800 metres, Jenneralm welcomes guests with breathtaking views over the Berchtesgaden National Park and Lake Königssee. The panoramic restaurant blends contemporary architecture with the cosy charm of alpine tradition. BEGA luminaires from the STUDIO LINE series enhance the inviting atmosphere, artfully showcasing the spacious interiors and the spectacular views.

As the highest-altitude restaurant in the mountain range, Jenneralm is a popular destination for day-trippers, hikers, and lovers of Bavarian cuisine. In the central dining hall, expansive windows create a seamless connection between the cosy interior and the majestic mountain landscape. Here, BEGA luminaires highlight materials and architecture, while never distracting from the spectacular views. Above the counter area and throughout the space, elegant BEGA pendant luminaires with a sleek, elongated cylindrical design add a touch of modern sophistication to the ambience. Their glare-free, downward-directed light creates focused pools of warm illumination, enhancing the atmosphere with a welcoming glow. The interplay of direct and indirect lighting creates an open, spacious atmosphere, giving the dining hall a clearly structured feel despite its generous size.

Glare-free BEGA pendant luminaires appear to float above the dining tables and seating areas of the central space. Their rounded, organic shape evokes the charm of traditional mountain cabin lanterns. Their gentle glow creates a cosy, welcoming atmosphere while subtly reflecting the natural tones of the alpine surroundings. The lighting design remains subtly in the background, allowing the spectacular views to take centre stage: the emerald-green Lake Königssee, the rugged peaks of the Berchtesgaden National Park, and the majestic summit of Mt. Watzmann. A panorama that – depending on the time of day and the quality of light – continually reveals new and captivating sights.

The harmonious interplay of BEGA luminaire types – featuring a velvet black exterior and copper-toned interior – creates cohesive and atmospheric illumination throughout the restaurant. The two types of pendant luminaires work in perfect harmony, accentuating the space while offering structure and ambience, guiding guests through the room with subtle elegance. This thoughtful lighting design supports the Jenneralm’s diverse offerings – from serene sunrise breakfasts and hearty post-hike meals to elegant evening dinners framed by the breathtaking alpine panorama.
