Recessed wall luminaires

For flush or surface-mounted installation

For decades, BEGA luminaires from this series have been outstanding lighting construction details on numerous structures worldwide. We are constantly developing these luminaires and always perfectly match the construction and design to our LED technology. The extremely low maintenance requirements allow a new product concept with far easier and quicker installation. The electrical connection is comfortably established before installation in the structure. The installed luminaire is then mounted securely in the structure or in the installation housing with our BEGA mounting system. All installation dimensions are identical to those of the previous luminaires. The slim yet screwless luminaire frames are highly distinctive.

The unshielded luminaires and the luminaires with asymmetrical flat beam light distribution are available in a version as combined LED emergency luminaires with integrated single battery for 3 hours of emergency operation in case of mains failure (according to EN 60598-2-22).

Technical data

The unshielded luminaires are optionally available as luminaires for applications requiring a higher degree of illuminance or as location luminaires with lower light output.

The shielded luminaires direct the light downwards, and are fully shielded above the horizontal. The highest degree of illuminance is generated in the immediate vicinity of the luminaire. Luminaires with a high level of visual comfort for the uniform illumination of footpaths and surfaces with maximum glare suppression.

These luminaires with asymmetrical flat beam light distribution emit their light into the width of the room. The light is directed downwards and shielded above the light emission level. For the wide beam and uniform illumination of surfaces and paths.

With asymmetrical light distribution, these luminaires are particularly suitable for the glare-free illumination of floor, wall and ceiling surfaces – both indoors and out. They produce a high degree of illuminance on the illuminated surface. They are luminaires with the characteristics of a floodlight, which produce spatial illumination and are suitable for illuminating squares, driveways, stairs and wide footpaths.

When used as recessed wall luminaires to illuminate ceiling surfaces, the light distribution is particularly suitable for the illumination porches and cantilever roofs, subways and covered entrances.

Pedestrian subway
A pedestrian subway between two building complexes should correspond to the style of the building architecture. In this case it is open, light architecture, which corresponds to daylight on account of large glass surfaces. This light effect should also be achieved in the underground connection. A graphic arrangement of wall luminaires with light emission on two sides thus accompanies the visitors through the subway. An average of 100 lx is reached at floor level. Face recognition is very good on account of the luminous energy. This makes the subway friendly and inviting. The steps of the stairs are flanked by recessed wall luminaires with asymmetrical light distribution.

Loading zone
Good light in a loading and manoeuvring zone guarantees safety and smooth working processes. Where there are several adjacent loading openings in a building, glare-free luminaires are therefore placed above and between the gates. Their asymmetrical very wide beam light distribution creates a degree of illuminance of about 50 lx. In addition, location luminaires are installed in the wall about half a metre above the ground in order to facilitate reversing. The entire company grounds are illuminated from a height of 8 m with pole-top luminaires, guaranteeing a basic illumination level of 20 lx.

Underground car park
Here too, the focus is on the safety of the road users. The transition into the underground car park must be illuminated in accordance with the time of day in order to prevent extreme changes between light and dark. This means that this area must be illuminated with 300 lx during the day and 75 lx at night. The ramp leading into the underground car park is illuminated with recessed wall luminaires. Their asymmetrical flat beam light distribution ensures uniform illumination of the road surface. A degree of illuminance of 15 lx is reached here. The light is absolutely glare-free.
