All Apple smartphones (iPhone 6 and later) with at least iOS 10.3.2 as well as smartphones with Android 6.0 (or higher) are supported.
All you need is a power supply (230 V) for the Smart Tower; a smartphone and the free BEGA Smart app.
Controlling the system via smartphone and the BEGA Smart app uses Bluetooth with an open-field range of about 15 m to the nearest central unit (Smart Tower or Smart Extender).
The ONE and PRO remote controls use a Zigbee radio network with an open-field range of more than 30 m to the nearest central unit (Smart Tower or Smart Extender).
Your BEGA Plug & Play system is set up via the free BEGA Smart app. The system and the remote controls are configured using this smartphone app. The individual components are scanned using codes and are added to the installation. The app can then be used to control and switch the luminaires in the immediate garden vicinity on and off. You can also create groups and scenes for your own individual lighting scenarios.
You must be within the Bluetooth range of a Smart Tower – i.e. max. 15 metres away – to set up or control the system.
Individual luminaires can be grouped together. For example, it is possible to switch several luminaires on or off or dim them simultaneously. Each luminaire can only be part of one single group.
Scenarios have more specific settings than groups. That means: In a scenario, luminaires are set to a preconfigured state, for example: 50 per cent brightness, light colour blue.
Luminaires can be integrated into several scenarios, with different settings for each one.
DataMatrix codes or QR codes are 2D codes that store machine-readable textual information. The BEGA Smart app can scan and process this information. The codes make it easy to set up and configure BEGA Plug & Play.
Yes, you can control several systems. However, only one system can be controlled and configured at a time – with multiple systems, you must switch between them within the app.
If you subsequently change the plugs of the luminaires connected to the outputs of the Smart Tower/Smart Extender in an existing installation, you must adjust this manually in the app. The app does not automatically recognise which luminaire is connected to which output. Such changes can, however, be made in the app quickly and easily.
The PRO remote control is fully supported. Support for the ONE remote control will follow shortly.
The ONE and PRO remote controls can be configured directly in the BEGA Smart app.
The wall mount can either be fixed to the wall with double-sided adhesive tape (included in delivery) or with screws. Please make sure that the guide for the remote control (small rise) is pointing vertically down (6-o-clock position). The remote control is held on the wall mount magnetically.
The two Favourites buttons on the PRO remote control (convex & concave) can be configured using the BEGA Smart app for any illumination or control function you want in the system. The standard configuration is “All on” and “All off”.
You can assign individual luminaires, luminaire groups or scenarios to the ten user-programmable buttons on the remote control ONE.
The Zigbee connection gives the remote controls a range of 30 metres to the nearest Smart Tower or Smart Extender in an open field environment.
Changes made to the system or the configuration within the BEGA Smart App are not automatically transferred to the remote control. However, transferring the changes manually is simple: Activate the remote control by pressing any button. Now press the Enter key (touch ring “top") three times quickly to synchronise the settings. Done!
The ONE remote control enables basic control of your Plug & Play system. You can assign individual luminaires, luminaire groups or scenarios to ten user-programmable buttons.
The PRO remote control optimises the convenience of controlling your Plug & Play system in terms of materials, display and usability. The menu is controlled using an ePaper display and touch wheel. Two user-programmable favourites buttons also allow access to popular functions. The PRO remote control has an impressive design with a matt black, anodised cast aluminium housing and a front made of damage-resistant Gorilla® glass. The remote control is therefore a decorative accessory in itself when placed in the wall mount.
All luminaires are compatible without exception. Transformers and distribution boxes from the 2016 system cannot be integrated into a current installation at this time. We are working on backwards compatibility.
Yes, the system can be extended as much as you want. You can add Smart Extenders to increase the number of connections. However, please note that the maximum total connected wattage must not exceed 50 W. The total connected wattage can be increased by adding more Smart Towers.
All luminaires with BEGA ZigBee LED lamps can be switched on and off and controlled using BEGA Plug & Play.
Also supported are:
Yes, you can also add devices that are not currently officially supported, as long as they are compatible with Zigbee 3.0 . They may, however, have limited functionality. BEGA does not offer any support for these components!
If a software update is available for one of the Zigbee lamps listed below, the BEGA Smart System can also perform the update. The app will notify you about the availability of any updates.
