Centennial Hills Library, Las Vegas, Nevada

Award-winning environmental design

The 16.8-million-dollar project for a library in the Centennial Hills Park in Las Vegas appeals to people of all ages. The various media in the library are presented in a modern atmosphere. A bookshop with a café is another source of visitors to the library. The concept of a feel-good oasis in the desert of Nevada, clearly geared towards environmentally friendly design, was awarded the Gold Certificate in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED).

BEGA products with the latest LED technology make a significant contribution towards the environmentally friendly technical equipment of the library and of the surroundings of the complex.

In the outdoor area, light building elements and bollards provide a clear structure and the feel-good factor highlighted in the awarding of the Gold Certificate. The robust and striking luminaires that divide up and structure the outdoor spaces are designed to complement each other. They achieve this with wide beam light distribution for a high degree of illuminance.

The efficient outdoor lighting around the library is rounded off by BEGA wall luminaires acting as surface washers. The asymmetrical light distribution is particularly suitable for the spatial illumination of surfaces. An additional feature: The light aperture can be directed upwards or downwards.
