One special purpose of lighting design is to redraw architectural details. The light follows the special features of the architecture. It highlights and draws attention with very narrow beam illumination. Recurring structures in particular are given more depth with accented light. The initial preparation of the lighting design should be viewed separately from the type and size of the actual project. Our examples depict very different types of architecture:

They emphasise the struts in the vaulted ceiling. The light shining from the bottom up makes the ceiling appear higher and more imposing.
